Before they were sworn in, Rev. Elder Masalosalo Sopoaga, leader of the Pago Pago CCCAS, who led the call to worship and provided the opening prayer asked Gov. Togiola, Lt. Gov. Faoa, First Lady Mary Ann and Mrs. Elisapeta Sunia: “Do I need to remind you what the people of this territory are expecting of you? Do I have to remind you? The answer is no.”
“You have the experience and you have been given so much in the last few years. It is...important for you — governor and lieutenant governor...we are expecting you to show us a pattern of good works, — all of us, my friends are expecting from you (as God from Titus) — incorruptibility. May God bless you.”
During his remarks, which were given in the Samoan language, Gov. Togiola welcomed the people and the dignitaries in attendance including the various church leaders, Samoa Head of State Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese and his masiofo (queen), Congressman Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin and Department of Interior representative Nikolao Pula, deputy director of the Office of Insular Affairs, Dept. of Interior.
